Text to Screen – Bad Santa
Mozeo worked with the leading local rock radio station 95X, a local Citadel radio station, to power their Holiday Taint Party. The radio station hosted a rock concert where fans crowded the main stage, or walked around the venue frequenting it’s many bars, lounges, and sponsors. The concert promoters aimed to keep the crowd engaged with Holiday entertainment, in addition to the music of the headline bands.
The Challenge
The challenge was to offer concert goers more ways to directly interact with the sponsors at the event. The promoters wanted this Holiday party to be more than a place to listen to music, but an event that everyone could participate in. They were looking for something new that was cutting-edge, and that would wow their audience.
The Solution
The Mozeo Team worked with the concert promoters to bring the Holiday themed party to the big screen through the mobile phone. They played off of the Holiday theme and integrated a Bad Santa letter concept, all through text messaging. The audience was able to text Santa, directly from their phones, and the messages scrolled on the screens by the stage. What better way to get the pulse of the audience, and project their thoughts for everyone to see? Not only did it provide a means for concertgoers to interact directly during the event, but provide additional entertainment for everyone to see what else everyone wanted to tell Santa.
The Results
While listening to the music, the concert goers were either looking up on the big screens laughing at Santa’s messages, or texting him themselves. Everyone was excited to participate and be part of this new and innovative event. Hundreds of messages were sent during the first few hours, and even more continued as the night went on.
In addition to the Santa messages, 95X was able to indirectly build their database of mobile listeners. With each text, Mozeo provided 95X the mobile phone numbers that were captured for the entire event. 95X now had a great marketing database to send future promotional mobile marketing material all through text messaging.
Future Plans
From the great success of this and past mobile campaigns, Mozeo continues to work aggressively with local Citadel radio stations and 95X for future mobile implementations. They look to implement many more mobile marketing campaigns in the future. Part of their strategy will be to increase user interaction and participation all through the mobile phone. Local Citadel radio stations and Mozeo are excited at innovating many more mobile solutions in the future.
